GCSE Geography Fieldtrip 2009
On the first week of September Year 12 pupils collected data for their Geography Coursework. Pupils were attempting to ‘Delimit the CDB of Bangor’ by completing a pedestrian and vehicle count and recording the types of services and shops located in Bangor town centre.

What is Geography?
By studying Geography you will learn from the real world, about the real world in the real world. You will become a responsible citizen by studying contemporary world issues such as climate change, third world problems and conservation measures.
Why Study Geography?
As well as increasing geographical knowledge and making people aware of geographical issues, geography can help develop skills that are valued by prospective employers. These include literacy, numeracy, ICT, developing independent learning, communication, problem solving, investigative work and teamwork.
What Career Opportunities are there with Geography?
Statistics show that Geographers are among the most employable compared with other disciplines. Some of the fields of work for which geographers have the necessary skills include marketing, environmental work, using Geographical Information Systems, working for the census office, tourism management, the Armed Services, law and architecture.
