Connor House is the co-educational preparatory school of Bangor Grammar School, situated on Clifton Road and bordering the Grammar School campus.
It is a single stream entry school with seven classes from P1 - P7 with no composite classes. There is a staff of six full-time and two job-share teachers, a PE/Games specialist and two part-time members of Pre-Prep staff. Classroom Assistants are also employed.
A co-educational pre-school class operates in new purpose-built accommodation. Pupils of 3-4 years of age attend daily morning sessions in term time from 9.00 - 11.45 a.m. The co-educational status now adopted by Connor House provides a continuity of education for girls and boys from 3-11 years.
Connor House offers a broad and balanced curriculum with Technology, ICT, Instrumental Music and P6/7 Transfer Science taught in the Grammar School. Pupils are encouraged to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities which includes a variety of sports, choir, recorders, Scripture Union, choral speaking and drama.
The Preparatory school with its high staff:pupil ratio endeavours to promote the well-being of each child in order that his/her maximum potential, both socially and academically, is reached. This is achieved within a caring school environment in which pupils are stimulated and encouraged.
